DAY 1 ONLY - Training and Support Group Workshop focusing on Complex Learning Needs including Down’s Syndrome

This is only for DAY 1 of this 3 day course if you are not able to attend the other days however you can save money and gain the full experience by booking the full course!

A key feature of each session is the opportunity to participants to network with staff who are supporting children with similar needs in other settings.

Who is this course for?
KS1, 2 & 3 school staff – in particular TAs and LSWs working with children who have complex learning needs.

What does this course cover?
A key feature of each session is the opportunity to participants to network with staff who are supporting children with similar needs in other settings. Advisory Teachers and attendees work collaboratively to increase inclusion via a joint problem solving approach. The content of these sessions changes from one year to the next in order to meet the needs of each annual cohort.
3 support group meetings across the year. Participants will consider:
  • Strategies for developing inclusive practice
  • How to extend literacy skills

Outcomes

Course aims:
Participants will have the knowledge and confidence to implement a variety of strategies for:
Developing language skills and extending access to the curriculum

Each session will provide opportunities to:
  • Meet with Advisory Teachers in a relaxed, informative and supportive way.
  • Share good practice.

Audience

KS1, 2 & 3 school staff – in particular TAs and LSWs working with children who have complex learning needs.
